Feb 23 - By early to mid afternoon, the surface low will be approaching Kansas City with a strong dry slot punching into the area from the southwest. Areas of southcentral Missouri could see an isolated strong to marginally severe storm however forecast soundings indicate ML capes will be marginal (less than 500 j/kg). Sufficient shear and steep mid level lapse rates would support a marginal wind/hail threat for any storm that could organize
however the time window is pretty short. We are not carrying any precip chances past late afternoon across the area. Most locations will see their chance of rain generally early in the day.
Rainfall data for past three years, click here! Note rainfall was for one small area only. Other locals my have experienced more or less.
